WEEK 49

that is so weird to type 49...that means that next week i will be typing 50 and i am not ready for that...why can't time just slow down just a little bit??? ah! well things are going great everyone! i successfully made it to Dunkerque and everything is going great! my new companion is amazing which is something that i definitely needed to have this transfer...i needed that change bad! his name is elder Jorgenson and he is from St George Utah and he is just one of my best friends:) i love him to death. he's just my big teddy bear;) no but seriously we get along great and we LOVE to laugh! this transfer is going to be great! well i'll stop with all the mushy love stuff and tell you how my week went!
MONDAY NIGHT
tonight was really good. yesterday at church we were stopped by the relief society president who told us that she wanted to make us dinner and bring it to the church. but because of the rules of the mission, we needed a dude to be there as well. #cantbealonewithwomen so we invited the one and only pierre! so tonight we got there and the rs president comes in and says something came up and i can't stay with you so you are just going to have to eat this dinner without me! so we waited and when pierre showed up we all sat and ate together and talked and laughed and then pierre wrote me a little goodbye note and we took some pictures. it was a good way to say goodbye! i love that man!
TUESDAY
well today was really fun towards the end cause Jackie, our ward mission leader, took me and elder rodriguez out for dinner! it was so much fun to be able to sit and talk with him one last time and he gave me some pretty great life advice. but i'll get to that later! we went out this morning for some contacting and didn't have a ton of success...it was blazing hot and no one was outside and so i was getting my butt sweat stains for fun;) TMI? you decide. so we came in for lunch and then went and did some more contacting! we had a lady that we didn't know call and ask if we could go and give a blessing to one of her friends, but the timing was weird and so we ended up having to go and start the exchange with me and rodriguez early cause we were going to dinner with Jackie. so we went home and finished up packing and then went to the gare to print off some train tickets and then went out with Jackie. he took us to a chinese buffet and it was good! i love me some good chinese food. after dinner he drove us home and i asked for a picture and asked him what his life advice was for me. he said that if i went home converted to the gospel, and found an amazing and worthy wife that my life would be blessed and the lord would always be with me. i love that man! he is so cool!:)
WEDNESDAY
well today started out with me and rodriguez just running all around trying to get all the last stuff that we had into our bags! my bags were pretty full, but not as full as last time...and the funny thing is i have no idea what i left behind....haha! life is great. we got all our stuff together and then i called up the mr jean parfait himself to say my goodbye and tell him how much i loved him and he gave me his email and told me that i needed to email him and keep in contact! then i got a phone call from a missionary telling me that he recieved the package from mom and that he was going to give it to me when i got into paris and met up with everyone! paris was crazy. so many missionaries and so much fun! we had to run all over dropping people off and bringing people in but finally we made it into Gare du Nord and we caught our train with 90 seconds to spare! me and elder jorgenson immediately hit it off when he told me that he like coke. i knew we'd be best friends! we got into dunkerque around 5 at night and had to go grocery shopping so that i had something to eat this week and then we had a meeting with a member who is a little mentally handicapped but he loves the missionaries and he just wanted to meet the new guy;) we then went contacting at the beach for the rest of the night!
THURSDAY
today was pretty good! still just trying to get used to this weird 2 man stuff!! it gets so quiet! but we have fun watching movies and videos from the gospel library to fill our downtimes at night and during meals! today we had nothing planned and no investigators so we set out on a quest to get a baptismal date by sunday! it was our goal and a good one at that;) so we went out on a quest for an investigator. we contacted a lady that wasn't from the area but from an area away from dunkerque in a ville 350 kilometers away...a little place called REIMS. you ever heard of that place before?? i was all no way! and she was all no way! and we were all no way! and so she told me that she was going to call the other elders and that this church would be the last church that she investigates cause she really wanted a god to be there but she just wasn't sure and that she might be taking this as a sign to try one more time! so that was really cool. but other than that it was just another day of contacting and finding! we went and taught this less active that we found who told us that her husband doesn't let her come to church but that she still pays her tithing and tries to come when he isn't home. so that was a fun contact;) then we went and ported up a neighborhood and told some stories to each other! my comp has a great life guys;)
FRIDAY
today we planned. hahah and that is about all that i have to share with you! we woke up and went out and contacted for a while and then came in and ate some lunch and then since the area book and the phone are a mess, we are taking some time during weekly planning to find some people that are lost in the book to teach and same thing with the phone! we are going to clean those things up for the next few weeks and make dunkerque a huge place in the mission again! dont worry it will happen. after we were done planning we had an hour to go out and contact and find someone so we went and did that and it was blowing wind really hard haha!
SATURDAY
well today was good fun. we had a rdv with the guy that i met the first night that i was here to go out and see a less-active that was in the hospital. so we went out and contacted and then we came in for lunch and then went out with him and it took forever and an eternity to get out to the hospital and back! we went and said hello and then sat and chitchatted for a while and then we all decided to leave and so when we got out to the bus stop, we had just missed the bus so we had to chill and wait for the bus! then we went in and finished up some transfer goals that we needed to do and then we went out contacting to end the night! all in all it was a super fast day and not a ton to report cause everything that we did took up so much time! haha but it was good and rainy and windy none the less...i mean what do you expect when you are next to the ocean #amirite
SUNDAY
well the first sunday here and i met the entire branch! including me and my companion there were 15 people in the chapel! isnt that awesome?? haha i was asked to share a little talk and introduce my self during sacrament and it went well. i like it here and all of the members seem to like me! there is only one lady here who plays the piano and she only plays right handed so it looks like i need to spice up my piano skills! haha that could be helpful i think! anywho we got out of the chapel really slowly today so we got home and did our lunch and then some studies cause i guess we are supposed to do studies on sunday and i have never done them before?? haha so ya we did that and then went out into the nasty cold and windy rain to do some contacting! lets just say that mine and elder jorgenson's wives are going to be BEAUTIFUL. because apparently the more time you spend proselyting in the nasty weather the more attractive your wife gets...you know like the prayer thing?;) but it was pretty bad and so we decided to go inside after an hour and we were soaking wet and try to clean up the phone for a little bit! all in all it was a good day
my time here in dunkerque is going great! thanks for the love and prayers and keep the letters coming!!i love and miss you all!;)

WEEK 48

well transfers came!!! everyone, i am leaving Reims to the great city and metropolis the people of France like to call DUNKERQUE!!! from what i know there are about 8 people in the branch and the city isn't that big either, and in the winter it is colder than ever! so thankfully i am going during the summer and fall;) i am very excited to go though! another elder in my mtc group started his mission in Dunkerque and he said that he loved it there so i am excited to go:) i'll have to get you my address next week when i am there but i will definitely get it to you! so just send all the packages and letters to the mission office this week;) hahah!
MONDAY NIGHT
tonight we were asked to help mustard man with his home teaching. he is the home teacher of Nolwenn's aunt and so we went with him to her apartment and had a fun time with her. she was dog-sitting her mom's dog and it is the cutest little white dog ever and of course i had to take some pictures with it! it was really fun! after that we had about 20 minutes to go contacting and then we came in and figured things out for the exchange tomorrow with the ZLs!
TUESDAY
we had a pretty fun bastille day! i don't know about all you but it was super fun for us! French Independence day is NOTHING like the 4th! so dont worry i didn't have any parades or crazy carnivals! but it was a really fun bastille day! probably the best one that i've ever had;) hahah we got into paris for our district meeting and all bore testimonies on a certain thing that elder ericson asked us to. i was asked to speak about a family on my mission that has helped me out the most. so OBVIOUSLY it was the Royer family from metz:) i showed pics and only teared up! we then ate and then took our district photos! it was a really fun district meeting and i am going to miss this district! then me and elder johnson had a lunch appt with the Fieschi family! the same family from last week and so we were waiting at the church for them to come and get us and then we got to their house and had lunch and then after lunch they had us play ping-pong and then after ping-pong they took us to their garden to show us and for us to help them water their plants and then after that we went back to their house and hey had us set the table for dinner! and we were like woah! we're eating dinner here? and they were like, it's bastille day! you're spending the entire day with us! lol! so we started setting the table for dinner when the wife said, plus we invited our less-active son so you can say that you had some sort of missionary work for the day! haha so that was fun! plus the sister of the little boy in the Reims ward came and so we got to talk about his baptism! remember that family? the dad is less active but wants to baptize the son? so that was good to talk to her about the baptism as well! so all in all is was a really fun day filled with lots of laughter and on the way home we may or may not have heard the song "im so excited" come on;) it was fun!
WEDNESDAY
well we woke up this morning and did some studies and then elder johnson, being the cool cat that he is, likes coke just as much as me and told me that carrefour, the french wal-mart, was having a sale on coke that was 3-10 packs for 10 euros! so obviously we went and bought some! because of the fact that i was most likely leaving this transfer i only bought one 10 pack but it was funny to see him walking back to his apartment with all of his coke! after that we made our way back into paris to make the exchange with our companions. once we got back to reims we went back and planned for a little bit and then went out and contacted for a while until we had a rdv with this old investigator who was painting her walls and said she could only talk to us for like 5 minutes and we were there for a half hour! haha we shared a little spiritual thought with her that she said helped her right when she needed it! then we went to another lesson in the park with an investigator that we have now and holy cow! he asked questions! almost too many!! when we finally finished we had missed dinner and needed to get back to the apartment!
THURSDAY
well today was the last time that i got to go to the french course in the mornings with mustard man and his wife! which was a little sad but it was good to see them one last time! they are leaving on a trip for 15 days so this morning was the last time that i would see them! it was her birthday today and we didn't find out til we got there so i felt kinda bad that i didn't give her a little present of some sort! but it was good. after that we left and went home to go eat some lunch and then we went to teach a lesson with jean parfait and jackie and it went really well! jackie told me that if i was transferred that i needed to keep my tuesday night open so that he could take me out to dinner. so im excited for that! after that we went home and took the car out to chateau thierry cause we had a dinner appt with a less active who was going to make me his special and famous TARTIFLETTE:) and i love tartiflette!! it was fun. we got there and he hadn't finished making it yet so he allowed us the 'privilege' to help him make it and then we shared a little spiritual thought with him! he is super cool and i hope someday he comes back to the church! he'd get married really fast!;) hahha
FRIDAY
today was just another friday...you know spending the whole 4 hours in the apartment literally planning for nothing!!!!! hahaha it was so crazy. i dont know how we spend that much time planning for maybe two people that we are seeing! it doesn't make sense! but that pretty much took up the entire afternoon! we went out contacting and then came in for lunch and weekly planned and during it i looked out the window and something right behind the cathedral was on fire and there was so much smoke coming from behind! we thought it was someone invading on reims! but im still here and everthing is ok! then we went out porting and came home and i gave myself a haircut and then i wanted to do transfer prophecies but we didnt do it.......
SATURDAY
well i found out today that im spending the next chapter of my mission in DUNKERQUE!!! i was a little nervous at first to tell you the truth! but it was all good in the end. it is going to be my first 2-man apartment and so that is going to be interesting and it is going to take some getting used to, and also i just can't get over how small the branch is! it blows my mind! so that is going to be very fun and it will keep my very occupied for the first bit of my new adventures there!! after we found out about transfers we went home for lunch and then looked around on the new list to see what missionaries were going where and had some fun with that. we then hopped in the car and made our way out to chateau thierry. we went to go get a member who had asked if he could come and help us out for the day and it was fun to be with him. we stopped by a couple member's houses and then some less actives to tell them about transfers and also to share some spiritual thought! it was fun to see them all again one last time. we then came home for the night and i called a few people to tell them that i was leaving! jean parfait said that he was going to ask jackie if he could come to dinner with us on tuesday night!
SUNDAY
well i had to give my talk today! and i only cried a little bit!! im gonna miss all these REMOISES!!! they hold a special place in my heart! it was so fun to be able to see them all once more and to take some pics and get invited to dinner once more!! i love these frenchies;) so ya my talk went well! i think i only messed up on all of it and i don't know how much it made sense...but after all the meetings and figuring out what was going on for the next couple days we went home and we had mail! on a sunday? it happened;) i got a post card from debbie! it was fun to have something from them;) we then went out contacting and then went once more to see the Rol's. brother rol got some eye surgery this last week and wasn't at church today so sister rol asked us to come over to see him once more! it was fun to see them and laugh with them once more! they are the cutest old couple ever! then we came home for dinner and i did a little video journal to send home in my package and then started packing! i took down my photo wall and my room is just starting to look so naked! it sucks having to move!! but it was a good week!
i hope you all know how much i love you and how much i miss you! keep the emails and letters coming! i love you:)

thanks everyone! cant wait for your letters;)
MONDAY NIGHT
nothing too crazy or exciting happened tonight for porting...it was pretty laid back and we looked out into the distance of the wheat fields and could see some hot air balloons in the air and thats when i decided that that is how i am going to propose to my wife...so if you are ever in a hot air balloon with me, watch out cause you never know what might happen;) (just kidding you know exactly what might happen cause i just told you;))
TUESDAY
well today was really fun! we had quite the exchange if i do say so myself! as we were leaving the apartment i told myself that i was not alowed to leave the apartment without my journal or my soeur book (journal for missionaries and members to write cute little notes in that every missionary has) and what were the two things that i forgot to bring on my exchange? those....i wanted to kick myself in the face...so we got on our train and into paris for district meeting and then we started the exchange where me and the other elder just went around contacting and porting for the whole afternoon! that night we had a dinner appt at a members house in the torcy area and those are always kind of awkward cause you don't know any of the people...so we got there and started talking and they were just one of the coolest families that i had ever met! they were so nice and i just loved them! and they spoke english! so it was a lot easier to communicate;) i then found out that the wife is the sister of the less active that i am working with! the one that wants to baptize his son! so it was so good to be able to talk to them and it was just awesome so obviously we had to take a picture before the end of the night! it was quite a fun night and i won't soon forget those members! im supposed to be doing another exchange in torcy next week and they invited me over again and so im really excited to see them again:)
WEDNESDAY
today we woke up and got some studies over with and then me and the other elder had to go into paris to go to a district meeting for another district because i was on an exchange with a ZL so you know i was pretty much a ZL for 24 hours! so it was fun to go and sit in on another district meeting and listen to the formation. maybe its bad to admit it, but i someday hope to be a zone leader to go to all the meetings like that! it was really cool! then we went to the gare and met up with the other elders and made our way home for the day, only to do another exchange! me and one of the other elders! nothing too crazy happened with me and him except for the fact that we had a dinner appt with the funniest lady in the ward! she is tahitian and her daughter is our age and they invited me and him over for our last meal with them and she made us POISSON CRU! i think its tuna? but anyway...the night got later and later until they finally drove us home. the night was filled with tons of dinner and tons of inside jokes! it was a fun exchange!
THURSDAY
today was so fast! it was super fun though. we started off with a little bit of a french course from a family in the ward and then after me and my comp had a lunch appt with the oldest couple in the ward and they are the CUTEST couple ever. i seriously love them with all of my heart and i cannot believe that i am going to be leaving them! it was such a fun afternoon with them and then after lunch the husband told me that he lad a little project that he needed help with. he then took us into the back room where he had his computer and then 5 pieces of paper and said, i need you to type this onto the computer for me! haha so we spent the next hour sitting at his computer typing up this little family history story for him! it was cute. after that we were leaving to walk out the door and the wife grabbed me and pulled me down and said "i love you elder libby! truly there are missionaries that you just never forget! you'll always stay in my heart!" :') she is so dang cute it makes me want to die. so we took some pictures! then we had a little spiritual thought with a member family that we didn't know too well and it went well and she made some cute little treats for us and then after that we went home for dinner and then had some porting time!
FRIDAY
well today literally contained nothing...we weekly planned and then had a dinner appt with mustard man and his family! so honestly there is not a whole lot to say about today other than the fact that mustard man's shirt that he wore tonight is going to make you die laughing! oh my goodness it is the funniest thing ever!!!! but it was a good day. really laid back and really not a ton to report...so i am really sorry that it is so short!
SATURDAY
just like all the other saturdays that i've had lately, we went down to chateau thierry for the day and had a blast down there. haha jk we went down there planning on seeing a ton of less actives and some investigators but none of them were home! which stinks! and it was 7/11 which means that i missed free slurpee day! and no they do not have a 7/11 in france:( so that was a bummer as well! we were however invited over to a members house for dinner and so at the end of the day we had that to look forward to. it was a really fun night with them too but we stayed way to long and needed to get out of there so that we could make it home!
SUNDAY
today was really good for the most part! when we got to church the little oldest sister came up to me and gave me a little grocery bag full of treats and said "this is for you during your transfer. dont share it with anyone!" haha then we had a really good meeting and got to talk to everyone and it was really good! we had some fun after church with all the members and taking selfies and everything! infact so much fun that i got assigned to give a talk next week! so we'll see how that goes...then we came home and ate dinner and then went out porting for the night and had a lesson with a less active that we've been working with for a while! it went really well and she was sad when i told her that i was probably getting transferred next week! it was a good rdv! then we finished porting and then came in for the night!
well im sorry that it kind of got shorter and in a rush right at the end, but im running out of time! know that i love you and that i cant wait to hear from you all soon! talk to you later!!:)

WEEK 46

so this week was close to hell! not even kidding! it was so hot and humid...so no need to wonder, but i have found the combination to hell;) 107° and lots of humidity does not make for a great day! but we made it through that 4 times this week. so i guess you could call me an expert at going through hell and back;) and yes it is true! the ipads were stolen from the mission home this past weekend and we ended up only receiving one ipad per companionship...#sharingiscaring so i wonder if i'm ever going to get an ipad?
MONDAY NIGHT
nothing too exciting to share about tonight...we went out to go porting and it was getting to that uncomfortable level of hot and i was all like PLEASE heavenly father dont let it get hotter than this! heheh we knocked on lots of doors and nothing too exciting happened so when our time was up we made our way home
TUESDAY
today was really really hot....just past the uncomfortable level when you say alright heavenly father i'll do this but PLEASE! no hotter than this! so ya it was just a little bit uncomfortable! but we made do and we were grateful for the trial that was placed in our paths. we started out this morning with meeting with some friends we've met, before they went off for Canada. it was bittersweet as are all goodbyes...chances are that i am going to be transferred out of here before they get back so that was a bummer but no worries. there were no tears shed! after that we made our way to the gare to go for an exchange! i was going with a kid that was in my group and we've met like 2 times throughout the whole mission and so i was excited to get to know him! we got into paris and got off the train and it was like the air was taken from out of my lungs...i couldn't breathe it was so bloody hot! after i caught my breath we went and found the missionaries...cause they can help you;)...and we headed back to Reims. we got back and had to come to the church to look at something on the computer and while here we exchanged some of the music that we had! it was fun to get new music! we then contacted around and talked about life and then met up with the other elders for dinner at burger king!
WEDNESDAY
today was the dreaded day that we found out about ipads...it all started during studies. the other equipe were also doing an exchange with the ZLs and the ZL here started out our study session telling us that all of the ipads had been stolen from the mission home. naturally we didn't believe him because of the fact that this is like the 18th time that we've been told we're getting ipads and something has just come up every time and it just never seemed to work out. so i went into the other room and called up one of my old comps! he had his conference just the day before and so he told me....YUP its true and that tomorrow at zone conference president would tell us all about it... can you believe it? i was a little ticked! but we finished up studies and then the stress started! im going to relate this next story like this elder 1, elder 2 me and elder 3. elder 1 had a bad train ticket so elder 2 decided that he would go in on the train alone and me elder 1 and elder 3 would chill in reims til the other elder in paris got back from his exchange. while waiting here in reims, we got a call from elder 2 saying that the elder in paris missed his train and that all 3 of us in reims needed to get to paris ASAP so that we could meet up with my collegue and get elder 3 his collegue and elder 1 his collegue that missed his train! so stress to the max! we ran downtown to the gare and bought emergency tickets to get into paris and holy cow....we got to paris and again i couldnt even breath when we got off the train cause it was hotter than hades!!! after we made the exchange we went and caught our train back to reims and did some contacting and at the end of the day we had a dinner appt who took us to a chinese buffet and it was delicious! kinda reminded me of ABC but not really. after the end of that, we went home for the night and i was dying cause i was so hot! i hardly even slept! this country doesn't believe in air conditioning!!!!! ahhhhhh!!!!!!
THURSDAY
so today we woke up and headed out the door to zone conference....IN MY NEW SUIT:) i was looking hot i'll tell you one thing;) i was really worried that it was going to be a million degrees again but all was well during the morning! we got into paris and it felt fine and i was really thankful! when the conference started i was just happy to see all of my friends! its always fun to have those meetings:) we had really good formations given by the APs and president and it was funny to hear the story behind how the ipads were stolen! apparently they were hidden in the back closet and as they were putting them in the back, someone said how funny would it be if these all got stolen?...turns out it wasn't that funny! hahah they walked into the office on monday morning and saw that a garbage bag full of about 50 ipads was the only thing left in the closet. so some missionaries who had already received ipads at an earlier conference had to bring their ipads back and give it up while we wait for new ipads to come in! we were almost halfway done with conference when we realized that we would never make our train back to reims in time. so i called the cute lady in the office who orders tickets for us and she told me not a problem and she'd change the times and tickets for us for the next train. she is such a saint and i love her! she sent us the text with our new train times and it was for the train at 19h28 cause all the other trains were 130 euros more expensive! and we couldn't do that cause we had an appt with a less active family that night! so we told the ZLs and they told us to just go and make our train! so we ran! and we made it with 2 minutes to spare! and it doesn't help that by this time, the temperature had gotten up to 105°....lets just say that i was sweating like a pig and i wanted to kill myself! by the time we got back to reims and to the apartment, i literally was dripping sweat, in my new suit:( i decided that i could not leave the apartment without taking a cold shower. so i went into the bathroom and was struggling to take off my garments i was so soaked! but the shower felt good and we headed out the door to the less actives house in chateau! we got there and they had made us fondu for dinner cause neither of us had ever had it! it was a fun night and we laughed and taught a little lesson on the plan of salvation! it was a fun night!:)
FRIDAY
well today was a blast! it went by really fast and was really fun! we started out with a good old time with mustard man and his wife at the church for the french course that they give us weekly. we brought the ipads so that we could get them activated and so that was fun to sit and mess around with them for a little bit! after we got all the necessary things going, we headed home because the Wilson couple were coming to inspect the apartment and bring a few things that we needed! so we got home and i went to get on the ipad and my awesome comp had locked it with a passcode so i said that if we are going to have a passcode on it that it needed to be a passcode that both of us could use so we changed it and then the bell rang and the wilson's were here! so we went and helped them bring in some stuff and they told us that they were going to take us out to lunch! so while waiting for them to finish up the apartment inspection, i went to get on the ipad and it had a freak out and said that it couldn't remember the passcode! so we got locked out of our ipad for an hour while we were at lunch! after lunch the wilsons took us to their apartment in charleville so that we could do another baptismal interview! they are booming up there! its a little teeny branch with about 14 active members! soeur wilson gave us some cookie dough as we were heading out the door to go to the interview and i hurried and snagged a quick selfie with them! after the interview we headed home and reset the ipad and also had a rdv! it was a good lesson and we had some laughs and then parted home for dinner and a shower!!!
SATURDAY
today was straight up hot and crazy!! first things first, we made our way to the middle of nowhere in search for a package that came in my name! when we finally found it, we made our way back home for lunch and then to plan. i think it is so interesting how long you plan when you are a missionary. right now we have one investigator and she is leaving for a vacation in italy for the next 3 weeks. we had almost nothing to plan for but still. weekly planning took us 4 hours today! how?! i have no idea! after lunch we weekly planned and then after that we went and did some porting which wasn't too life changing! we went to the biggest muslim populated area i have ever seen and my comp thought we might see some success....LOL! and let me tell you that buy the end of the night i was dying because of my fast! no water was killing me!!
SUNDAY
today was pretty good! it finally started to cool down a little bit! it was a little warm but it was cooling down and the breeze felt really good! we got to church and it was a really good day! we had some really good lessons on the pioneers in priesthood and the atonement in sunday school and i also was selected to go to the primary and share a spiritual experience of how i know heavenly father helps me and answers my prayers because of my mission! after that we were in sacrament and some of the members got up and left the room so i went to go and see if they were ok and they were just saying how it was so hot in there that they couldn't sit there! so we stood out in the hallway and chatted and cooled down. it was one of the members last sunday here so she got up to bear her testimony and it was really good. she was crying and she was just saying how grateful she was for this ward. after church i got a photo with her and one with her bf and wrote them both a little note and then we went home and over ate til we were sick! after we went contacting and i realized that i didn't have them sign my book, so i called them and asked if they could come by for 10 minutes and just sign my little book! so they did and i gave them each a hug and they left! it was a little sad! then we went and did some porting and came home for the night! it was a really nice day!
so there is my week! the days are counting down to my year mark and it is so weird!! i can't believe it...i hope you know that you're all in my prayers! and i'd ask for the same:) love you all:) talk to you later

well....im gonna tell you first off because i cant hold it in any longer!!! i bought my first french suit today!!!!!!!! soldes started again and it was 50% off and i just couldn't say no!!!! it is so nice and i even took some pics in the dressing room!! hahaha! so mom can be proud of me cause i am just the coolest! #gettinthemdiscounts i am pretty stoked about that! and! we hit 20000 km on the car today. that i guess is a momentous occasion so if you'd like to celebrate go ahead;) well this week was crazy but good! it is my last pday without an ipad! i know ive said that like 12 times but i think this is the last time!!!
MONDAY NIGHT
well tonight started off with some dinner and then a short (haha!) run to the gare to get our train tickets...it took us a good 45 minutes to go there and back! ohh la la! but we finally got out porting and taught a lesson and the lady told us that she would like it if we came back when she got home from her trip in august.
TUESDAY
so i got my package from germany today! all is well! N'inquitez pas;) (do not worry) all is well! today i got to do an exchange with one of my favorite people ever! it was a blast. hes my new zl and he just became my new favorite person. so much fun to hang out with and so easy to talk to! i mean i think i just found my new best friend!;) no just kidding but it really was such a fun exchange! we started out this morning with a train ride into paris for our district meeting and that went well. we got there and had a good meeting and some good practice teaching and then a good lunch. we had to bolt out of there so that we didn't miss our train and made it with 15 minutes to spare! we had a fun train ride in and took some fun pics and then got into reims and made our way to the church for a rdv that we had! it went really well! we taught him the baptism and gift of the holy ghost for his after baptism lessons and he always loves to bear his testimony so that was really fun! after that we planned a little bit and the only thing that we needed to do was go to burger king for dinner! so the rest of the day was just contacting and talking! we talked about everything and he is just such a stud! i love that kid! after the day was over we went into burger king for lunch and ran into our ward mission leader and talked and then made our way home for the night when he asked me to cut his hair...cause i'm apparently the best in the mission or something like that;) after all of that we watched some fun church vids on his ipad!!
WEDNESDAY
well i almost died today! that was fun! the other elders said it looked a lot scarier than it was though so i guess thats a good thing! we woke up this morning very tired cause me and the zl were up having some pillow talk for a while last night...shhhh! i think we finally fell asleep around 00h30 so thats fun! we got ready and then headed out the door to go catch our train to find our collegues and took some fun pics on the train ride in! its been a pretty fun exchange! we got into paris and we were all hungry and wanted some food so we went to macdo and ate and talked and on the way back into the gare i stepped to the side of the sidewalk to move for some lady who then yelled at me for i didn't know why til all of the sudden a bus was rubbing against my back and nudged my elbow! all the other elders were screaming like oh my heck are you ok? and i was all ya guys it just touched my elbow! then the lady was still yelling at me and she just walked off...sorry i was moving out of your way! i (almost) jumped in front of a bus for you! lol anyway we caught our train and then got to reims only to start another exchange! haha me and another elder spent the whole day contacting and stuff but when we came in for dinner, i had a letter from debbie and she is just the best! i love her! it was a letter with some money to spend! it was fun and i was happy! we then had a lesson with a member and it was probably the last time i see her cause she is going on a trip to italy with her mom for the summer and i will get transferred so she told me she had a small present for me and when we got there she had bought me some frozen cereal! and, no, it's not frozen cereal, it's FROZEN cereal! lol she said that she was walking down the aisle and saw it and it reminded her of me! we had a good lesson on the atonement and talked and ate and it was a good time! they told me that when i come back after the mission that i am welcome to sleep on the floor of their apartment and go to disneyland with them! so i told them that i am holding them to that deal!! im excited for that trip after the mission!
THURSDAY
today we got back together as a normal companionship and when we did we were gone all day! so its been like a week long break from my collegue! we finished up the exchange today at noon and then me and my comp had to go to another ville to do a baptismal interview cause the district leader there lives 4 hours away and we live 50 minutes so its just a lot easier for us to do it. we left the apartment and as soon as we got on the train i was out! haha we got to charleville and elder and sister wilson were waiting for us at the gare to take us to the lady's house! it is always so much fun to see the wilson's they are such a fun couple and i just love them! my comp went in to do the interview and i just sat and chilled with elder wilson and we were just talking and laughing and having a good old time look at some things on their car! after all of that we went and chilled with the other elders for a little bit and then had to go and catch our train to come home. we had a rdv for some after baptism lessons! it went really good and we talked all about the priesthood and how it worked. when we told him that we would not be here in reims this sunday cause of the meeting in chateau thierry, he asked if it would be possible for him to come to! after that we had a little dinner with the youth of the ward and one of my new good friends was there! it was so fun! she even asked if we could come over one last time this week before she leaves! she wrote me a note saying goodbye and im really gonna miss her!
FRIDAY
i got a package from debbie today!!! a lot of junk food makes a missionary so happy!!! i am so grateful for her! she is the coolest:) i was so happy to get mail! it came right when i needed it. today was friday and that means that there was weekly planning! so with not a ton to say about today, we got up and went contacting and then mailed off some letters and then came in for lunch and planned. in the middle of planning we got a call from the elders quorum president asking if we would be able to come and help him with a blessing and so we finished up and then went to meet him. it was the daughter of a really old member and she was feeling really stressed and wanted a blessing. it went really well and after we were done we needed to get to the church for our meeting with the ward mission leader and ward council. tonight was really good and we talked about a lot of people and made some really good progress! i love the members in reims! i also got this recipe for a cake that the bishops wife makes and it is delicious so i am excited to make it!!
SATURDAY
today was super crazy!! we used up so many kilometers on the car it is insane!! we were driving all over chateau thierry all day just doing whatever we could to get people to come to the church meeting that we were having the next day! it was crazy how busy we were. we started off our day with some church cleaning! the people who had to do it this week were out of town and asked that we do it for them so we were at the chapel for a good 2 hours cleaning! after we stopped and got some treats and went home for lunch and then out to chateau for the day! it was good. we saw tons of people and they all said they were going to come! we had a younger member follow us around all day cause he wanted to help and so that was fun! we went to the last members house and as soon as we knocked they were sitting down to eat and took us in to eat with them! by the time we got home it was close to 10. it was a crazy day!!
SUNDAY
we started out our day with just waking up and getting out the door fast cause we needed to get down to chateau! it was really good we got out and went finding jackie and then made our way out to chateau! there were almost 50 people that showed up which was amazing and because of it we hope that they'll soon open up a branch!!! that could help our so many people and it would just be awesome!! we had a good meeting focused on the temple and it was just really fun to see all the people there! and our newest member blessed the sacrament!!! it was really good!! he is such a cool dude! after the meeting there was small talk and it was fun to see all the people again. we then hopped in the car and made our way home. once we got home we ran into the other elders while driving down the road and jackie stopped and picked them up and we all went home for dinner together! after that we finished up some planning and then went over to one of the members house for some dinner for the last time cause she is going to the states for 2 months and i'll be transferred out when she gets back. she told me when she goes to utah that she wants to meet my mom and that she wants to keep in touch.. now thats against the rules unless we have permission from the mission president and she said tell him im like your grandma, im 68 yrs old, and that i have a temple recommend and he can call the bishop if he wants proof;) she is SO CUTE! we then went over to a members house to give him a blessing cause he has a test this week and wants to do good! it was fun to sit and talk to him for a while!!!
well theres that week! glad to hear that all is going well for all of you! hope to hear from you soon! love you!!
